LYAN is an organisation promoting excellence in youth arts
through cultural exchange and lobbying for the youth arts
in London . Our commitment is to initiating personal growth
in young people while enhancing their creative potential,
and we strive to involve them with a number of artists and
organisations.
In 2002 we celebrated youth arts
with our first ever Festival of London Youth Arts (FLYA),
which brought together hundreds of arts workers and young
people from all over London.
Last year we brought you FLYA 2005!
It was bigger and better than the last festival and it all
kicked off in Trafalgar Square (see the FLYA
website).
LYAN is a Registered Charity and
a Limited Company.
Present
LYAN is involved in a number of other initiatives such as
GEL (young entreprenuers), LIFT Education (theatre workshops),
Word Up (poetry and spoken word), the L Group and many others
(see our Projects section for more
information).
LYAN will aim to continue improving
its services to its members and build links with all sectors
of the community.
Future
LYAN aims to expand its membership
base and offer a more interactive service. We also hope to
secure more funding to be able to work with more diverse sectors
of the community offering training and networking opportunities
to young people and youth arts practitioners.
